Intro
It seems a lot of guys are looking to improve their sense of fashion and develop a style when it comes to their daily wardrobe. The reason I felt the need to start this site is because there are a lot of guys out there trying to Peacock (throw on a bunch of loud, random things to get attention), but have no sense of the basics of style that can arguably get you a lot further in life than simply throwing on random pieces. I’m not saying that peacocking is a bad thing, however, there is a time and place for that after you have developed your own style, and know the basic rules of fashion.
Now, I am not claiming to be a guru on the topic, far from it, but I have gained a lot of experience throughout my life, all from trial and error. Before you reach the point that you want to be at, you’re going to have to make some errors in judgement to improve and before you know it, it becomes second nature. Been there, done that, dress the way I do today. Now go out and find YOUR style.
Where to start
You can’t start off knowing all the hottest looks. Yeah reading magazines such as Men’s Style and GQ help but only if know what you’re looking for. By no means do you just settle with throwing on an oversized, wrinkled up, cartoon charactered t-shirt, creased denim jeans, colourful socks and runners and say you’re ready to hit the town.
A good way to start is seeing which looks work and which don’t. Sit down over lunch at a café near your workplace and people watch. Not in a creepy way, more of a style and fashion sense kind of way. It’s fun, and you may even have a laugh or two at what you see walk past. Most importantly, pay attention! See what works for some and what doesn’t work for others. Even try asking one of your male friends who you consider to have a great sense of fashion if they’d give you some direction. Guys aren’t as competitive as women when it comes to fashions and giving out advice (I see that all too frequently)
