When and where
A male friend of mine wore the same pair of jeans for several days in a row. Yeah he’d changed his t-shirt and socks daily but it looked like the same outfit day in and day out. It wasn’t until one day; I took him on an impromptu retail therapy session that he gained some sense of style. Five pairs of jeans, three t-shirts and three pairs of shoes later all for under $200! BOOM! Here he was thinking that dressing well was an expensive task when in reality it isn’t. It’s about knowing when and where to shop.
A lot of guys think that by improving their sense of fashion, they have to shop for all the high-end market brands like Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren, and Armani etc. You don’t! If you can afford it then great, do it! But most men can’t bare the thought of spending $300 on a pair of shoes from Aquila. I’m not saying their expensive, that’s just a mindset most guys have. What you pay for is what you get. Most of the time.
If you have a sense of style, you should feel comfortable shopping anywhere. And not only that, you should feel comfortable finding a bargain for something stylish pretty much in any store you go to. All the stores I mentioned previously are seen as ‘exclusive’ but they, and stores like them, have sales throughout the year. For example, jeans at Zara range anywhere from $60-$200 but when they have a sale, their jeans go down to as little as $20! Case and point my impromptu retail therapy session with the male friend of mine mentioned earlier.
This is just an example. You can find great stuff in any store! But you have to know when and how to look. You have to shop often, not necessarily purchase anything, window-shopping as its known, and know what is overpriced and what is a bargain. It’s only worth as much as what you’re willing to pay for. Research research research! Know your prices before you leave the house to spend your hard earned money.
Final say
Now I don’t want you to think that you’re doing all this to get girls. If that’s your motive then STOP! Those are the wrong motives to improve your sense of fashion and style. Sure, a man with a decent sense of the clothing game and style is attractive to most attractive ladies, but that should not be the main reason you improve yourself in this area. The reason should be for YOU! Remember that!
