Corr Blimey makes the simple look effortless. With its simple designs and accessories they bring a new meaning to urban street wear. They will leave their mark at this year’s Fashfest where they will showcase their Berlin Collection to the world. With garments named ‘Drop it like it’s hot’ and ‘The long walk’ you can pre-empt that street style will never be the same again.
The brand is Australian owned and grown. Sourcing fabrics and materials predominantly from Australia but also around the world. They are stringent on sourcing the right materials for their designs.
Why Corr Blimey you ask? Well, it’s a euphemism derived from ‘God Blind Me’, a less blasphemous way of describing an exclamation of surprise, the direction in which they want to take their brand.
Corr Blimey uses natural fibres and materials entering the fashion field with a sustainable no green waste approach. This is why it was decided that the photo-shoot incorporate Australia’s natural environment.
I was lucky enough to have Steve and Louisa (founders of Corr Blimey) lend a hand in making this photo-shoot possible. No sooner did I try on their Double Stuff Rodeo jeans that I fell in lust. They are comfortable and wear well. They are made from 100% Australian denim. I have never worn jeans that fit so well. They made my ass look good TIC. Matched with their signature Billyboy coat (named after the model who wore it) a white Saba t-shirt was all that was required for this look. Accessories were kept simple with Tag Heuer's Grand Carrera watch, Trade Secrets belt and brown snakeskin shoes from Zu.
Look two was inspired by my random purchase the night before. No sooner did I pass Gellatisimo to try one of their amazing new flavours, Berry Pavlova, that I found myself next door in Cotton On trying on a hooded vest. No sooner were they out on the racks that the only medium size was mine. Again, right place, right time. Its like I have this radar of knowing when and where to shop. Matched with Corr Blimey’s individually hand designed classic tee in black, shredded not torn Industrie jeans and my go to High top Zip Zu shoes. The look was accessorised with my latest addition to the watch collection, AK’s Military Action Series and prescription Ray Ban’s giving it that edgy feel.
Look three brought with it a stop to the days windy conditions. It was a relief knowing that I was going to be in Corr Blimey’s Double Stuff Rodeo shorts and individually hand designed classic tee in grey without goose bumps. The shorts are 100% Australian denim as that of the Double Stuff Rodeo jeans. Comfort and feel are unlike any other denim I have ever worn. Matched with Le Coq Sportif’s red canvas shoes and Bvlgari leather strap watch.
I’d like to thank Corr Blimey for their garments. It’s great to see a Canberra based fashion label leaving its mark on the fashion scene. Happy Schnapper and Dailyfauxpas for taking the time from their busy social and personal schedules in making the day happen. Words cannot describe how appreciative I am.
